When I was 7, in the middle of the night I laid on the floor in the back room with my brother and sister while 15 people had a Gun fight in my front yard; my Dad was shot in the side.
If youβre that kid, itβs not your forever, their are better places and better days where the sun shines.
Keep learning, keep growing and keep surviving. Keep fighting like hell, always have high hopes and never be reduced by your circumstance, you have a higher calling.
When I was 13, my bike was stolen at Gun point on the way to my friends house just off of 8mile.
If youβre that kid, find something you love, get lost in it, stay off the streets, for me it was basketball.

In high school, my good friend Jimmy was jumped by a car load, he fought like hell but broke his arm. He was mistaken for me, eventually, we found each other and that was the last time they tried, but not the last to try.

A lot of kids grow up in a home without two parents, they grow up in areas that do not nurture and protect their future, they grow up without positive and healthy role models.
Not all places care the same, not every night is restful and not every day is peaceful.
For some, everyday is a survival.
